This site is about a journey…of learning, discovery, challenge, and more.

It’s probably important to know a bit about how I got into this in the first place. Many years ago, I took a firearms familiarization course, largely because I was nervous and afraid of guns. I have to admit the course freaked me out a bit because many of the people fit the stereotype that’s out there about people who are interested in guns. I didn’t pursue it as a hobby although over the years I was lucky enough to shoot a couple times at some elite places with law enforcement professionals. But I had no skill at all. And I was still afraid.

Fast forward to several/many years later, and through a series of events, I decided to take the Non-Restricted and Restricted course (in Canada) that would enable me to acquire my Possession and Acquisition License (PAL).

Through one of those courses, I learned that my instructor also provided private lessons and training.

This is the story of my journey from Unconscious Incompetence to (hopefully!) Unconscious Competence.
